Oh my god, seeing that makes me want to tear up the whole system and start a fresh. Separate the admin and the social aspect of the job, into separate teams and buildings. I also would like to see specified allotments for children to stay in, supervised and with security protection, until a suitable foster is found. Yes, money wise this would be a stretch.. which is why i'm thinking of starting a campaign/charity to search for funds to be able to fund these ideas.
The system is dated and is in dire need of repair. If we want less criminals in our society, we need to act when 'troublesome kids' are children and reinforce better behaviour and values early in life - and take them away from such harsh realities that they face in their own homes. Mothers and fathers who are not able to provide a good environment for their own children, or who simply can't help their child's excessively bad behaviour (supernanny can't reach us all
Some people don't deserve to have children, if all they're going to do is abuse their family, intentionally. It usually seems to stem from a bad childhood and peer groups they had when growing up. It's a vicious cycle that needs to meet it's end, once and for all - or at least minimised a very vast amount.
Social workers usually go into the profession just wanting to help children live a better life, but instead, end up spending more time filling out forms than spending with the very children they're writing about. It's ludicrous!!! The very people that care the most about our children today, are the one's whose hands are tied but are subjected to every child's pain every day.
..now wonder most social workers end up quitting or are not as mentally healthy as compared to when they first entered the profession.
More cases are being closed on broken homes and children, because there just isn't the money to fund the resources. Less cases left open means more children are left to fend for themselves, either in the very home that's the trouble source - or on the streets. How is that right?! All this is due to the government making budget cuts and sending less money to these social workers and organisations..
I hate the government.
